Collector Profile - Simon "Shakey" Shakeshaft

Age: A run down middle aged 49

Location: Now in East Hertfordshire, England

When did you start collecting Groggs?
I'd say about 10-12 years but properly collecting in last 7 or so.

What were the first 3 Groggs you owned and why in particular did you pick these?
John Charles, older 18" version
Ryan Giggs Testimonial piece in Wales home strip
I think a Mark Hughes hollow 9" in Wales kit.
I actually collect Wales match worn football shirt memorabilia and bought a collection of shirts off a well known collector in the Rhondda and he also had some Groggs, had to have them too.

Do you still own these Groggs and if not why?
Yes still got them all.

What Groggs do you try to collect now?
Always collect Wales football kit based Groggs, Wales Rugby Mini's and a few other football & rugby legends pieces.

How many Groggs do you own?
I haven't actually counted them but roughly between 80 and 100, those Mini's soon mount up mind.

What's your favourite Grogg and why?
Have too many favourites to pick just one but think my 9" John Charles in Hereford United kit will always be special, it’s a one off.

Are there any Groggs you regret selling if so why?
Never sold any of my Groggs.

Who would you love to see Grogged?
Don't think there isn't a rugby playing Welshman or legend that Richard or John haven't covered so need to concentrate on a few more footballers. That list could be endless to! Denis Law (Scotland kit) -please do Dalglish in Scotland strip!!- maybe Joe Allen in Wales strip and then a few Arsenal greats, Henry, Wright Adams but especially Bergkamp!!! Said list could be endless.

And now for some photographs of your collection:
