Collector Profile - Darren Rees

Age: 42

Location: Merthyr Tydfil, South Wales

When and how did you start collecting Groggs?
August 2010 I had some birthday money to spend and saw the Rugby Relics website with several Groggs for sale and went from there.

What were the first 3 Groggs you owned?
Gavin Henson and Gareth Edwards which I bought from the Rugby Relics website then looked at World of Groggs website and ordered Captains Climb which was just being launched.

Do you still own these Groggs?
Yes, still own them all

What Groggs do you collect now?
Rugby 9" mainly. Mostly have Wales Groggs but starting to branch out with Lions and club.

How many Groggs do you currently own?
129

What is your favourite Grogg?
Braveheart Stephen Jones. It’s a great looking Grogg with the very distinctive painted face. Also it’s a very low number which I thought I’d never track down.

Are there any Groggs you regret selling?
No as I have never sold a Grogg

Who would you love to see Grogged?
Warren Gatland and a 9” Colin Charvis
